Hi, and welcome to Cindy's Treasures! As our homepage said, I like to make boxes.  I've been focusing on blanket boxes, but I can make other things, as well.  I've also developed a router jig to make box joints that is virtually foolproof, which will also be available for purchase, soon.

I like to make boxes with a Marine Corps theme, and have also developed a display unit for Marines that grows with them in their career.  Click on the Marine Stuff I Make and Sell link to take a look.

Click on my My Marine Corps Experience link to see some of the things I experienced in my 12 years of service.

I am not going to list a set price for one of my boxes.  Because the raised panel boxes are a lot harder to make, and all the variables that come into play (style, size, engraving, finish, cedar lining, vanity box inside, etc.) the best thing to do is , and we will discuss your box and all the details and agree to a price, then.  Just as a rule of thumb, full-sized box-jointed pine blanket boxes will start at $300.  Shipping is usually about $50.00.  Raised panel boxes are a lot more intricate, so they will be more, starting at $400 (again, shipping is another $50).  You get one image at no extra cost on the box-jointed box, and two on the raised panel boxes.  Extra images will be more.  Different wood will be more.  One warning, oak does not work well in the laser.  Maple, cherry, alder and ash are about the best woods for laser work.  I am willing to accept payments.  You can break a box purchase into 3 or 4 payments.  If I get your box done before total payment is received, I will hold the box at no charge until it is paid.

Box-jointed Blanket Boxes
This is a blanketbox I made for my stepdaughter as a wedding present.  The corners have a nice box joint, which I did with my router and jig.  It has a cedar lining, and the cover of the vanity box inside has a laser engraving from a photo of my stepdaughter and her husband together.  I finished it with three coats of Danish Oil, which really draws out the corner detail.

Other Box-Jointed Boxes

Box-Jointed Keepsake Boxes

I made this box for my bank.  I get some advertising, and they get a nice box with their logo on it.  The box measures about 16" x 9" x 12".  I tried for a little more balance with this box by making the lid larger.  This allowed me to mount the hinges a little differently, which has the added bonus of not needing a chain to support the lid.  The stain is "Early American" again.

Bible Boxes

Keep your Bible nice and safe inside one of these boxes.  The boxes are designed to resemble a book, with a straight, un-milled edge and hinge on the left side, and the box-joints resembling pages.  I visited my local Christian bookshop, and it appears that the most popular Bibles come in two basic sizes.  A large Bible measures11 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 2 1/2".  A medium Bible measures 9 1/2" x 7" x 1 1/2".  If your Bible doesn't match these dimensions, don't worry; I can build them to fit.  I make them with a little room measuring from left to right, and enough room for fingers top and bottom. (See the "lid open" thumbnail to the right. The Bible I used for the photo actually leaves a lot of room on the side.  Yours will probably fit tighter.)  I have a few stock images that I have prepared for the laser, but I can put any picture you want on the cover.  There will probably be an additional charge for your own images, depending on what it is.  You can also add text, like you see here.  You could add a paragraph of scripture to the inside of the lid, for instance.  Fonts and text size is completely customizable.  Adding the family name or similar wording, like in the image to the right, will be an additional $10.00.  Again, you will need to explain what you want and we will agree on a price.

Raised Panel Boxes
I really like this box.  It is 34" x 22" x 22".  As you can see, it has raised panels, with the front panels occupied by EGAs.  The lid is bread-boarded, to prevent warping.  This box induced my purchase of a Jet shaper and a Delta dedicated mortiser, just so I can do boxes like this the right way.  I think the EGAs would also look great on the ends, but I think having them on the front looks great, too.   This box was stained with Minwax "Cherry" stain, instead of the Danish oil.   Lots of sanding and multiple coats of wipe-on poly made this box shine. I have done lots of other boxes with a Marine Corps theme.  Again, click on Marine Stuff I Make and Sell to see.

Jewelry Boxes

These are small boxes designed to sit on a nightstand or shelf somewhere to hold your rings or smaller keepsakes.  They measure 3.25"Hx3.25"Wx2.5"H,  and come with a variety of images on the sides and lid. If you want some other design or picture, send it to me via email or postal mail, and I will put it on for you.  Contact me first to make sure I can do it and I understand exactly what you want.  A box without clock is $30.00 (S&H is included in the price).  I can add a clock to the front for an additional $13.00.  They will also be slightly taller than a plain box.

Desktop Displays

Send me your favorite photo, or a high resolution image, and I'll put it on something for you.  Shown here is a small clock I've designed, which you can put on your desk at work or a small shelf, but it can be virtually anything.  A cigar box, a plaque.  Do a diploma or birth certificate instead of a photo.  Your company logo on a clock, to give to your customers or vendors as a show of appreciation.  Your imagination is the only limitation.  Click on the link below to order a clock, email me to discuss any other type of work.

Mantle Displays

These are simple but elegant displays that you can place on an end table or mantle of a fireplace.  They are free standing, needing no other support.  They can be engraved front and back, to allow you the ability to switch it up once in a while (click on Other Mantle Displays below to see the other side of this piece).  The top and bottom are 2" wide by default, but they can be any width you want, up to 12"x18".  The middle sheet of wood typically is not stained, but I can stain it if you want.

These are fun puzzles that you put together to make a freestanding figure.  I will be adding to the list of puzzles as time goes on.

Photo Albums
I don't make the albums myself, but I do all the laser work.  You supply the picture and I create the lasting image.
