Wall Displays

Another item I am very proud of is a decoration I designed to hang on a wall.  As you can see, it consists of a large EGA, a nameplate, and a record of your Marine's accomplishments.  My original idea was to have the rank on the left side, the rifle and/or pistol badge on the right, and any breast devices, such as jump wings or aircrew badge in the middle.  However, this can look lopsided, depending on your individual accomplishments (ex: Rifle and Pistol Badges with subsequent Award Bars stacked up on the right side and just a rank plate on the left would be very lopsided, and not hang level very easily.) You can certainly arrange them any way you like.  As your Marine grows in rank, or changes shooting scores, you can update the wall hanging as appropriate.  Dates of rank can be included on the back of the plates, and score can also be included on the back of the shooting badges.

Display kits come with eye screws so you can rearrange as necessary. The bottom of each plate is marked so you know where to add the eye screws when that time comes.  I can make any other device you would want (ex: other shooting badges, MP badge, etc.).  I might need you to send me an example to reference, which would be returned with your order.

Large Plaques

A customer contacted me and asked me how large I could make an EGA plaque, and if I could reverse the image. (He wanted to do something with mirrors.) I said "sure", and the largest piece of wood the laser could take was 20 inches, so the EGA would be about 18 inches.  He bought one, and I got to thinking that this would be something other people would like.  You can order it with the image backwards, but you probably want it facing the right way.

This plaque comes with two stiffeners across the back, so it will stand out from the wall about 3/4 of an inch.  The top stiffener is undercut on the bottom edge, so to mount it on the wall, I provide a mounting bar cut with the same angle.  You attach the mounting bar to the wall, nailing or screwing through to the studs.  Then you simply lower the plaque over the mounting bar, the two angles match up, and your plaque is securely hung on the wall.  You don't have to use that method, but the stiffeners are already on the back of the plaque, so it is a handy way to do it, and it will always be level, as long as you attach the mounting bar level on the wall.

This plaque sells for $100, plus another $10.00 for shipping.  The one shown here was stained with Minwax "Cherry", but you could choose any stain in the Minwax family.  "Red Mahogany" looks good, and so does "Golden Oak" and "Early American".  If you would want to paint your EGA so it looks more like the official emblem, I could provide you with a plaque with no finish.

You could also use this plaque to make a super-sized wall display, like above, but a lot bigger.  The nameplates and rank plates would be double the normal price.
