Marine Corps Stuff

My Marine Corps Experience

Once again, these images are meant to give you an idea of the possibilities.  I have several public domain images I have found on the Internet, but you can provide me with an image, or design your own, or describe something to me and I can design it.  Basically anything I can get into my computer can be engraved onto one of these displays.  I can make the top and bottom pieces any width or length you want, and mill a variety of edges.  The edge you see is called "Roman Ogee".  The sheet of wood in the middle of the display can be any size up to 12"x18".  The entire display can be stained any color you want.  Typical colors I use are Red Mahogany (a deep red), Early American (a medium brown), Golden Oak (a nice mellow yellow), Colonial Maple (pumpkin orange), and Jacoba Bean (almost black).  These are all Minwax stains.  If you see a color you like at the hardware store, tell me and I will see if I can get it.  The top and bottom are typically made of pine, but I can get other woods, if that is what you want.

This piece has the top and bottom stained with Red Mahogany.  They measure 12" long by 2" wide, with a Roman Ogee edge. The exposed part of the middle piece measures 10"x10", and is unstained.  Everything has several coats of polyurethane.

This mantlepiece has no top.  The plaque portion measures 6 inches by 6 inches, and is mortised into the base, which is two inches wide and 8 inches long.  I can make the plaque any size up to 12 inches by 18 inches.  The base shown is pine, but oak looks very nice as well.  I can mill the base with a variety of edges.  Pine bases can be stained a wide variety of colors.  I can also add text, to either the plaque or the base, if desired.

This mantlepiece has a 10 inch x 10 inch field.  The base is 12 inches by 2 inches.  I was concerned about the man wearing a mostly black shirt, but I was able to manipulate the tone curve of the photo enough that it was not a real issue.  This base is pine, and stained with Early American to make it a medium brown.
